BUDGET RATIONALE
Why these meals: This week's plan keeps dinner familiar for the kids, with pork chops on Monday, tilapia on Tuesday, tacos on Wednesday and Italian sausage on Thursday, then cheesy macaroni on Friday to finish. The 10 lb bag of Green Giant Idaho potatoes ($2.99) covers both Monday's mashed potatoes and Tuesday's oven wedges, and the two packages of corn ($5.00) show up on Thursday and Friday. The Kraft Shreds or Chunks ($6.99) does double duty too: use half for Wednesday's tacos and stir the rest into Friday's macaroni.
